Project Overview
Deemed the “father of New Wave,” Wolfgang Weingart revolutionized graphic design through his experimental approach to type and layout, boldly rebelling against the rigid traditions of Swiss Modernism. His favor of playful, layered, and almost provocative compositions transformed typographic design into a tool of personal expression. I wanted to highlight not only his radical influence on graphic design, but also the way his work continues to inspire designers to break rules and think beyond the grid through a design system consisting of an informational poster, booklet, video, and web app.
