Project Overview
Halyard is a typeface crafted by Joshua Darden in 2017. This project involves a visualized animation that tells the story of the unique quirks and history behind Halyard animated through Adobe After Effects and a complementary booklet spread. The booklet spread informs the history of the Halyard typeface and how its unique features such as the inktraps makes it so memorable and accessible. The first spread is focused on typesetting my written essay on Halyard’s history and unique characteristics to balance both readability and memorability (both visually and informationally). The second spread is focused on the juxtaposition of an example of the typeface in use (left) with my own creative use of the typeface (right).
